We stock the following specialty embroidery threads to use with your patchwork projects. The photo below is courtesy of the Aurifil Threads website.
Aurifil Thread
Aurifil Thread is made with long staple egyptian cotton and is ideal for detailed machine embroidery, red work, quilting, lace design, piecing and sewing.
This thread has really taken off with machine quilters and has been used in numerous award winning quilts. Long staple cotton gives this thread the strength needed for high speed machines. It is also mercerized, giving it a sheen not found in most cotton threads.
Weights available are #50, #40, #28 and #12, which come in an extensive range of colours. You can purchase these threads one at a time or join the thread club program and collect 72 spools over 12 months. (Aurifil thread also comes in a wool acrylic mix called Lana, perfect for using on wool felt projects. Please ask if you would like to find out more about this thread.)
