The Country Yard is owned and operated by Kerryn and Robbie Walker who live in one of the early homesteads of the Maungatapere area.
Their home has been restored in keeping with the original building design and the surrounding park-like gardens are a charming setting for many examples of rustic old farm machinery which have been rescued over the years by Robbie.
The American style craft barn opened as a store in 2003. Kerryn loves all things patchwork and the store became the ideal outlet for her creativity. She designs a range of patterns and kits under her “Country Yard” brand and shares her knowledge and enthusiasm in regular classes and workshops.
