20TH CELEBRATION CHALLENGE

Leading up to our 20th celebrations in October we will choose a theme every three weeks (give or take) from late February through to early September. This will give you nine inspirational themes to use, and plenty of time to complete your quilt, before our celebration exhibition, which we plan to hold on Saturday, 14th October.

All themes are inspired by what makes The Country Yard, The Country Yard! Your job will simply be to create a 12” block using each given theme.Nine, 12” blocks are very doable so let’s get creative! 

At the start of this journey we will provide you with a small piece of fabric. We would like this fabric incorporated into your quilt somewhere (and yes we would like it visible). There is no charge for this, but we would appreciate it, if you join and receive your fabric, that it is used for the intended purpose. 

Every third week, we will choose a theme, and have ideas available. These will be a guide only, what block you make is up to you, all we ask is that you work with the chosen theme. Your blocks can be stitched, pieced or appliqued, or a mixture of all your favourite methods. You might have a pattern that depicts all the things that The Country Yard means to you. 

You can draw inspiration from previous designs that we have used over the years in our mystery stitcheries. You are only limited by your imagination. We just want you to have fun and celebrate this milestone with us. How you finish your quilt top is up to you, feel free to add sashing and/or a border, but the finished size is to be no larger than 48” x 48”. 

We would love these to be completed for our celebration exhibition. If for some reason you are unable to have your quilt finished, we will display all completed tops.We invite our out of town customers to join in, and are happy to ship your piece of challenge fabric to you. Numbers will be limited.
